Skype in the Classroom

It’s been great thinking about the possibilities of having skype author visits or virtual field trips during our school days. I have created ideas for having guest speakers and virtual field trips below. The websites Microsoft Educators Site was a great find, as there was a lot of information on skype visits etc.

The other websites I used was: Penguin Young Readers. It is here that I found the author:

GUEST SPEAKER – AUTHOR – ADAM RUBINadam_rubinS

Adam Rubin is a creative director at Firstborn Multimedia by day and the best-selling author of Robo-Sauce,  Secret Pizza Party, and Dragons Love Tacos by night. Adam had the opportunity to work with the incredibly talented picture-book illustrator Daniel Salmieri, and he jumped at the chance. Adam lives in New York City.

jo     Franklin, Jo:  Jo would be excited to have a Skype visit between 9.30 and 4.30 United Kingdom time. A visit usually lasts around 45 minutes. There is no maximum group size as long as you have the technology so that everyone can see him.

He will spend the first 5-10 minute reading and spend the rest of the time answering the children’s questions. It’s best to have your questions written prior.
